The Tree of Life by Justin Stumvoll

The Tree of Life is cross-generational allegory that unites adults and children over some of life's biggest questions. Through an act of providence, Oakie the acorn is buried in an apple orchard by an eccentric adventurer, Otis the wild-eyed squirrel. Here in this unfamiliar world, filled with vibrant woodland creatures and a boy with an endless imagination named Joshua, Oakie must face adversity and tragedy and in the end, learn how to come alive where he's planted.
