He's a lover of great books, wild rivers and adventurous women. It's the whole catastrophe--the triumphs, failures, and reflections--of an artist living deep in the woods, on the fringes of our culture, and creating out of the quiet and inner turmoil he finds there. He paints nude models and paddles a wild river; in the process he experiences panic and silence.
