Food protection and quality are major problems in Malaysia and around the world. It is especially important for Muslims because their food must be halal (permissible under Islamic law) and toyyib (safe, hygienice, wholesome, clean, good). Since there are many different ways to worship Allah, this book will emphasise the importance of eating halal food as one way of worshipping Allah and devoting oneself to Him, and that eating non-halal food will lead to wrongdoing. Eating is not purely for the intention of satiating hunger. Halal is a Divine commandment with its own intrinsic and distinct value. It is a part of a moral code of conduct and a belief system. Divine Laws essentially determine what is considered halal. It is inextricably linked to a Muslim's personality and way of life.
