A single church organized in Carroll County, Indiana in 1828 evolved into multiple denominations including the Brethren Church, Church of God, Church of the Brethren, Dunkard Brethren, Old Brethren, Old German Baptist Brethren, and Old (Order) German Baptist, by 1928.
